    2001 honda crv ruff start when engine is warm
    Check engine light came on had it read as miss fire on cylinder 1. so I have replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, Ignition control module, ignition coil, fuel filter, and adjusted the valves. Still no luck. Any ideas?

    You've done a lot of good things to your CRV. Be sure to gap the plugs to spec. and lightly coat the porcelein portion of the spark plugs and electrodes with dielectric grease. Apply dielectric grease to spark plug wire connections. NGK plugs work best on Hondas. Use a code reader to clear old codes.

    If the problem persists, you may need to install your new ICM and coil in a new genuine Honda distributor housing. Honda distributors tend to only last 50,000 to 100,000 miles. One or more of the internal distributor sensors may be failing. Should the problem still persist, focus on the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

    I used ngk and properly gaped them. I'm still having the same promblems after changing the icm and ignition coil. Do you think I should just get a whole new distributor?

    No. Just buy a genuine Honda distributor housing and install your existing ICM and coil in it, to save money. Stay away from aftermarket distributors for Hondas--they are too problematic. Did you set the timing with a timing light?

    Misfires occur when the combustion process is incomplete, so you need to find what's missing. Check the compression of the #1 cylinder, to rule out valve damage. You may need to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor, since your car has a rough time starting when warm. It could be flooding the engine with too much fuel. Other ideas include cleaning the throttle plate, throttle body, and IACV.
