    Washer backs up into sink
When my washing machine drains it backs up into the kitchen sink. We have been on top of the house and snaked. There are no other drain problems in the house. Any suggestions?

I have a different take on your problem. It doesn't sound like a bad vent to me.
You have a blockage downstream from the kitchen sink.
We have been on top of the house and snaked.
Go back and snake from the kitchen roof vent and this time put out enough snake to reach the clog. Put down enough snake to reach the base and 25 feet more. Good luck, Tom

I have just moved into a condo built in 1974 that has a double kitchen sink with disposal. I have a dishwasher that is seldom used connected to the...

Plumbing - 1st floor sink backs up in sink below [ 3 Answers ]

I have a 1st floor kitchen sink directly above a basement sink. When the 1st floor sink is full, it drains quickly and backs up in the sink below - which then drains relatively quickly.
