Weighty Issue!
Hi,
I went to gym last year between Dec- Mar 2005, but hardly went for 15 days, did extensive gyming including weight.
My weight was 66 kgs then. After the gyming for 15 days, my body looked in shape but hardly lost any weight as I was not regular.
My height is a little less then 5 inches. In April 2006, I got married. I was in shape i.e.. A little less
Than 66 kgs till June 2006. But after that I have gained a lot of weight. Did a weight check in Dec 2006 wherein
I weighed around 76 kgs.
I have a feeling that after leaving the GYM I managed to look in shape till June 2006 but later gained.
Earlier my weight used to remain constant i.e.. At the most 66 Kgs... infact used to be anything between 64 - 66kgs.. almost for 7/8 years
But sudden increase in weight is causing a lot mental tension for me.
I feel if I join the gym, I will definitely reduce as my instructor told me that if I was reugular, I would have managed to shed all the weight
i.e.. When I weighed 66. But now I feel if I join gym again say for a month and with rigorous exercise manage to shed weight but then
After stopping the gym I may again gain double the weight.
Off late I have also developed cracked heels; which never existed till date.
My diet consists of the following
8.00 am - Coffee
9.30 am - Coffee
11.00 am - Sandwich (Butter and chutney/sauce) + Coffee
1.00 pm - Chapatti (2) or Rice
1 Veg Gravy
Sweet
3.00 pm - Coffee
10. 00 pm - Dinner
Chappati (2)
1 tbsp Vegetables
2 Tbsp Rice
Dal and Gravy
12.00 am - Sleep
I am 28 years old and married in April 2006. I also want to conceive. We tried in Jan twice but not yet pregnant as I did get my periods.
Kindly help.

I am concerned about weight gain. I want to re-join the GYM but scared of doubling my size. Do you think, leaving the GYM has caused extensive weight gain for me.

When you start working out, you start needing more food to keep up your energy levels. If you stop, you have to be careful to reduce the amount of food you eat. However, you've changed more than that in that time, so there may be multiple causes for your weight gain.
The best thing to do with regards to the gym is to continue going even after reaching your weight loss goals. That will keep the weight off, and will continue to improve your physical condition.
Cut out the coffee if you're trying to get pregnant... it can decrease your chances. Once you get pregnant, slowly decrease the exercising you do as your term progresses, then resume (in a fairly conservative manner) after the child is born. Naturally, before following this part of my advice, verify it with your doctor... he knows better than me :)
