Hello, I have a Samsung Plasma HP-R4252 TV and it keeps making a high pitched sound and a lot of static sounding noises when I playing my ps3 or just watching TV. At first I thought it was a setting that I had it on but I've come to find out that its in the TV. A friend of mine said that he thinks it maybe the audio card but I'm not sure... it usually doesn't start to make the noises until its been on for a while...

Without looking at the TV it is extremely difficult to say.

I will tell you that there is no such a thing as an "audio card" in a TV. Computers have sound cards (some have separate sound cards, while others have them integrated with the motherboard).

There is a main board on TVs that contains an audio processing circuit. If the sound is coming from the speakers, then it is possible the main board or speakers are causing the issue. If it is coming from the TV itself, then it could be the panel, power board, y-main, or x-main boards.

If you disable the speakers (usually a setting in the sound menu) and you still hear the sound, it is likely one of the boards I mentioned. On that old of a TV, if you can get the boards and get a good deal on labor or do it yourself you might be looking at anywhere between $300-900 USD. Which for such an old TV, you can easily replace it cheap.

If you don't have the sound after disabling the speakers, then I would recommend just connecting external speakers. Computer speakers are usually a cheap and easy option.
