My A-Minus Cost-Reduction Plan
Hello:
The Republicans are RIGHT. We NEED to cut the size of government.. . It's WHERE you cut that matters.
I'm all for cutting the DEA, the TSA, the NSA, the CIA and a company called CCofA. I call it my A Minus Reduction plan. It'll save us a BUNCH. We'll balance the budget, we won't have to raise taxes, and we won't have to cut Medicare, SS, OR Defense.
You think I'm joshing, but I'm not.
You?

Hello again, Steve:
You'll get no argument from me. If we added them to the mix we might even be able to cut taxes... But, then I'd have to come up with a new catchy name..
Do I take it that you're FINE with my plan? Cool.

The NEA is wholely responsible for the poor state of the Education system today... they pushed political correctness, indocrination all the while insisting throwing money at their members would fix everything... the more money they spent.. the worse the system got... because they ARE the problem.
And the EPA has morphed into a Rouge Agancy that consumes tax dollars but has zero accountability to the taxpayers..

Hello again, smoothy:
I'm getting my "A"s mixed up. I thought you were talking about the National Endowment for the Arts.. I know you hate them, so I figured... But, you're talking about the teachers union...
Surprise, surprise. We could add THEM to the mix... Except, they're NOT a government agency... You're not advocating closing 'em down cause you don't like 'em, would you?
Smoothy, smoothy, smoothy... The Constitution won't let you do that.

Elect me president, and I will give an executive order to make me lifetime dictator, and I promise you will never have to worry about deficits, budgets, joblessness, hunger, taxes, or in grown, toe nails.
I would take care of all those worries. It can't be as hard as they make it look!!

Tal ,why not apply for the position of OMB ? This is what former Obama OMB director Peter Orzag said in September :
To solve the serious problems facing our country, we need to minimize the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions. In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic.
Orzag ,like his Clintonoid compatriot Robert Rubin, has become very comfortable in the revolving door between top economic policy advisor to the government ,and Wall Street executive.
Seems to me that our government is well along that path to the ' less democracy alternative' with "Super Committees" meeting in secret ;automatic triggers like sequestration ,
Independent commissions and panels ,unaccountable czars ,and the expanded use of executive orders .
What he is saying of course is what the professional political class has been saying since TR 'reformed' civil service, and the nanny-state full of technocrats was born .

Flatten and simplify the tax code and do away with most of the IRS .
Let the Commerce Dept demonstrate that they are good promoters of business... The whole Commerce clause has been so distorted by the Federal government that would suggest the whole clause come up for amending .
Get rid of anything that is DOE (Education and Energy )
Get rid of DNI and his staff... it is a wasted extra tier of intelligence that serves no purpose .
Look through here :
A-Z Index of U.S. Government Departments and Agencies (A) | USA.gov
I'm sure everyone could find useless agencies ,bureaus ,committees ,depts . Etc in this expansive list .
He's got them on a list, he's got them on a list
And they'd none of them be missed, they'll none of them be missed.

Hello again, tom;
No argument there.. Term limits would save us a bunch too. Congressmen won't have to "bring home the bacon" anymore.

Most certainly end public support for the National Endowment of the arts too... Artists can still do whatever they want... only they are going to to do it on their own dime unless its something that they could actually sell to someone... which is as it should be.
If they are at the public trough... shutem down... unless they can find other means to support themselves. There is no pressing public need for excrement art with public subsidies.
As far as the NEA
http://www.nea.org/ now prove THEY aren't getting taxdollars.

Deck plan cost

I have a small deck that was put up improperly. I need to have it replaced. I have to apply for a permit and a person associated with someone we were considering building the deck would like to charge us $300 to do the plans (deck 8x14 with a roof and steps) for the county. It seems like a lot...
