How to get over a relationship after 3 years break up?
I had a very close friend who was my relative. We hung out with each other a lot and 4 years ago, we started to be in a relationship. After 8 months being officially in a relationship but not seeing each other much because I studied abroad, we broke up after a while of disconnection.

Right before the time of no contact, he asked me to lend him some money because he really needed it. I doubted it because I thought he was using me but still lent him the money because I was worried about him. After receiving the money from me, he said thank to me and disappeared. When I called, he talked like we were just close friends asking how each other were doing then.

One day he sent me an email telling me that he was sorry, that he's a bad guy and told me to find a nice guy to be with. I was really shocked unknowing what was going on because I was in the foreign country. I tried to contact him to ask what was the reason for the break up but he ignored me and chatted online with my best friend like he was flirting her. I was badly hurt.

I started distrusting people around me and feeling insecure with new friends and acquaintances.

When I came back to the country as I finished my studies abroad, he started contacting me again and sounded like he really had something to say and probably he meant he wanted to be with me again. I ignored him because I thought such type of person wasn't worth thinking of.

I had a long time struggling after the relationship, after a year I started having feeling for another guy but then this guy just considered me being a nice friend, no more so we are close friends.

After more than a year back home, I started to talk to my ex normally whenever we had family issue and had to gather up but I really looked down at him and never let him have chance to explain anything. My life went on normally for 3 years after the break up.

A month ago, a guy proposed to me that he likes me. I don't have much feeling for him so I don't care about it. However, his proposal made me think of my ex so badly.
Recently, I and my ex met up in a cold evening, after that we texted all day long and I was happy to talk to him. We talked about out past relationship and he apologized for what he had done and admitted that he was mean and he was bad. I also admitted that I looked down at him for using me but everything is over now. He sounded to me like he wanted us to be couple again.

Now that he suddenly stopped texting me, I feel very empty and upset. I miss him... what should I do? How should I get over this feeling for him who is my first love?

By staying out of each others lives, and having no contact with him, as you fill your life with family friends, and activities.

Sorry for your disappointment. It will get better, if you get busy with your own life.
