Working at home with a puppy
I just recently came to work at home again after being in the office for a while. The whole time we have had our puppy we have crate trained him while we are at work. Now that I am home all he wants to do is play and I cannot get anything accomplished with work. Hubby says I should keep him in the crate because that is what he is used to (from before) but I just feel so bad since I am home! Help!

I would crate, just make sure the crate is in a different room. The great thing about you actually being home, is you can offer more potty breaks and outside stretches. I have to crate one of my dogs when I am doing my studies. I've already had to buy a new college biology text book and they weren't cheap!

Take some time each morning to take your puppy for a walk and play with him for
20-30 minutes. He will tire out and sleep in his crate until lunchtime.
Take him out again for some activity at lunch, and again for about 10 minutes late in the afternoon. Dogs are like people, and they need their exercise as much as we do. I think you will find that you will feel more productive by taking out the pup and getting fresh air and exercise, and you will find it makes for a really great dog.
If you worked hourly in an office setting, you would be required to take these breaks for yourself. Make sure both you and your dog take time out in your day. No puppy should be kept in a crate all day.
