I have just recently moved into my house with my girlfriend and our three animals. We have been here for about 3 months.
The issue is that I've been hearing soft tapping noises throughout the night when I'm trying to sleep in our bedroom. Whenever I get up to investigate the sound, it stops abruptly when I reach the doorway.
I figured it could have been one of the cats. When I lie back down though, it started back up. Just a steady tap, tap, tap, and so on. Maybe a second pause between each. I hear it usually around night time.

We will hear shuffling in the other rooms and sometime it'll sound like someone is breaking into our house.
Today, I heard five loud knocks in my bedroom while I was in the living room playing Xbox.

In the middle of the night, if I hear the tapping, my cats will stare out there and our dog will bark and run under the bed. They act strange at night.

A year prior my grandfather living in this house and unfortunately passed away here. We inherited the home after his passing. I feel like he is still inhabiting our home. I don't feel frightened, but it seems to be getting worse. What can I do?

One thing that might help is setting up a camera in the living room or wherever you hear noises at night. However, what you say is a very common manifestation that spirits make. Could be to annoy, could be to simply let you know it is there. I for one do not believe that human spirits remain on earth after death, so the advice you might receive from me is going to differ from others on the site. None of us here can make you believe anything, in the end it will be up to you to decide what course of action you need to take, if indeed your house is inhabited by an entity. If you do have a spirit, what it would be, according to the Bible, would most likely be demonic, as angels do not inhabit homes. The course of action against a spirit like this would be through the church... not a house blessing, but a removal. Hope this gets you moving in the right direction. What does your girlfriend think is going on?

Hello, I would suggest that you help him pass on. It seems as though he is still stuck here in this world even though he is now deceased. Or maybe he is just looking over you. Read this link I found and see if any of the information relates to you. Best of luck!

Just to drive my point home... the link goes on to say that a medium can help the spirit move on to the after life. This is exactly the kind of thing these spirits want you to lean on for help.

Of course I am giving you the biblical stand point... where human spirits do not remain and the activity of mediums is absolutely forbidden. The reason for this is not just because God is "bossy" but because of where that other power is actually coming from. I am not saying mediums are frauds... far from it, I'm saying that the power they receive is a demonic one. Please be careful where you seek for help... there are many hands that are more than willing to pull you in one direction or another.
