Cat be pregnant already before old enough for spay??
My daughters kitten is only 5 months old!! But her vet told us she can't be spayed until 6 months! I believed him, but now I just did some research and found that some vets like to wait to 6 months, but others will do it much earlier! So now I'm mad about that!

But kitten got out of the house! (we have a metal screen door on the front door and with the nice weather we have the door open and there is only maybe 4 inch gap at the bottom. I didn't think the kitten could squeeze through :( :(

Well she came running back fast as lightning and rushed up under the screen door freaking out with this big ol' tom chasing her! She was scared and a little ruffed up (hair all matted and messed up and such)

Now I am afraid she might be pregnnat even though she is only 5 months old! She is really really lovey dovey now, way way more than before, her 'opening' is looking different. Kind of reddish, and she is always licking on it now more than before. I haven't noticed her belly getting bigger yet though.

And what do I do for this? I wanted her to be spayed I didn't want her to have kittens, but I also know I Don't want to abort her, as much as I know that there are already too many unwanted kittens :( I will find them homes, or I will keep any I don't rehome (I can afford it don't worry)

If she IS pregnant, what do I do? Other than vet visits obviously. Does she need a new diet? Any special care? Obviously keep her INSIDE right?

Cat pregnancies are about 60 days, and yes, she could be pregnant. Kittens can be neutered as young as six weeks, although those are usually ferals that are put back outdoors with a feral mom who can't be tamed.

Do you know if she has been in heat? Please please please don't let her out again. She's so young; it might even be a kindness to spay her and abort the kittens, if there are any. A vet check will confirm a pregnancy.

I will take her to the vet next week. She definitely won't be outside anymore ever ill make sure of it. She hasn't had a heat yet, I thought she was getting close, as her girly parts were started to change and look... I guess the only way to describe it is she looks like she has grown labia lol. Its not just a small line anymore. I REALLY hope her changes is just her heat coming!

Very few people can tell when a cat is in season just by looking. Their behavior is the tipoff... yowling, rolling on the floor, and wanting outdoors. Plus, you may even see a stray tom cat, or two hanging around.

As Wondergirl suggested, have her spayed now. If she were to be pregnant, I doubt that the vet would even notice.

Just got a new 8 week old puppy from a rescue service- she was spayed a week and a half ago- she came with kennel cough, so has been on antibiotics but still coughing a decent amount. I am just getting little worried about her stitches on her belly- they seem to be protruding through much...
