    Windows Explorer Lag?
So, I, being a student, knows the importance of portable applications. I bring a bunch of them to school for use. Currently, I have...
    1. Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus Portable
    2. Google Chrome 15 Portable
    3. WinRAR 3.90 Portable
    4. Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Portable
    5. Notepad Portable
    6. ImageConverter Portable
    7. Winamp PRO Portable
    8. Foxit Reader Portable
    9. Dia Portable
    10. Advanced System Care 4 PRO Portable
    11. Resource Hacker Portable
    12. Mozilla Firefox/Palemoon 7.0.1 Portable

I developed this hobby of mine to transfer and leave MS Office, WinRAR, Winamp, and Mozilla/Palemoon to my account on every computer I come across with in our school.

Everything was fine but then one time, when I opened the folder where I placed Mozilla, the Firefox icon was changed to the default application icon in Windows. Thinking that this would only take a while, I waited. Upon waiting, WINDOWS EXPLORER started to LAG which followed the freezing of the whole system. I opened task manager, ended the process and restarted it. The same thing happens since then. I think it would take 5 or 6 tries before any of my applications would start to run.
I noticed that this now happens to all PC units of the school -whether it was a Windows XP or 7 machine, and only Google Chome and Winamp was unaffected.

Could this be an effort of the institution from refraining me to use portable apps, or is this just some of registry or system error?

Please help. The reason I use portable apps is because some PC units here at school does not have MS Office installed, and so are the others.

Can someone give me precise and specific steps to solve it? I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks to everyone in advance!

Might be a problem with your own USB stick containing the apps, as it's happening on all machines.
