    Pregnancy with IUD
I have an IUD (mirena) that expired in April. Is it possible that I am pregnant? If so, will the baby be okay? Also would a home pregnancy test give me an accurate result?

It doesn't usually happen, but yes, you could become pregnant while using an IUD. Most often due to it slipping.

If you think that you might be pregnant, try a test. It will be accurate if you are pregnant and far enough along for the hcg (hormone associated with pregnancy) level to be picked up.

Most often an IUD will be removed if a pregnancy occurs. There are some exceptions and it would need to be discussed with your doctor if that were the case.
