    What is the difference between merchandising and service company financial statements
    What is the difference between merchandising and service company statements? What specific itemization appears on one but not on the other?

    The income statement of a merchandising company had Revenue, Expenses from sales through the Cost of Goods Sold which result in Net Income. The income statement of a Service company consists of Service Revenue minus any Expenses (ie: travel expense) that results in Net Income.
