I need to replace 2 central air units (entire units) and am seeking recommendations on what I should purchase. One needs to be a 2 ton and the other a 1.5 ton. The condo is approximately 1500 sq. ft, located in the Tampa Bay area of FL. I would like to replace with heat pumps rather than the heat strip the old ones had and am thinking a 13 SEER or higher would be best. One bid I received suggested a PAYNE (which I've never heard of) but I prefer buying known, name brand units. Reliability, long life, performance and quietness are high on my list of consideration, with ease of obtaining parts, etc. for repairs. Though cost is a factor, quality is more important. If you could give a recommendation pertaining to brand, model and approx. cost, that would be extremely beneficial. Please help me with this dilemma. Thank you so much.

Everyone has a different opinion. Some like Goodman, some hate; Some like Carrier, some hate. RUDD, Trane etc. Survey your neighbors, Google the model #'s of the units you are considering and see if there is any feedback from purchasers. You will find that any brand name is also made under other less known brands.
