I have just posted this question but did not know if it worked so I am posting another one as I now joined as a member.

I am 44 years old. I am on no medication whatsoever and do not and never taken the pill. This year, I've noticed that my period has been rather irregular with even a missed period (which I have never gotten before). I presume it is related to the stressful year that I have had. Also, aside from missing one period, I have noticed that I have been getting vaginal spotting and/or a "second mini period" after the major monthly period. This spotting or "second mini period" starts about 7 to 9 days after the last day of the "actual" monthly period and lasts for about 5 days. The spotting is not heavy and I just need to use a liner. The colour is usually from faint red to brownish. These spotting or "2nd mini periods" don't happen monthly but has happened about 3 times this year. The first time this happened was in June. The second time in August. And the third time in September.

At present, I am having ongoing vaginal spotting. But this time I started getting it on the 7th day (last day) of my regular monthly period. The vaginal spotting has not stopped and it is the 10 day of spotting. I have been to see my OBGYN and everything is fine. Did pap smear and scan and everything. Everything is normal. Even a cyst that I had since my last check up in June has disappeared. So basically, I am very healthy. My doctor does not believe it is even premenopause and not thyroid related as well. He just believes that I have been stressed fullstop. I am happy that I am fine with all the check ups. However, this vaginal spotting or irregular mini period or whatever this is is just annoying and sort of a nuisance. Can anyone tell me how long this will last or any insight into this? Is this just one of those things that will adjust itself at an ungiven time albeit a few days , or months..

I have irregular bleeds sometimes, maybe once or twice a year I'd get my period then a whole month I would be spotting and then after the next period it stops. It's definitely stress-related and don't worry too much about the spotting and try not to get too annoyed as that will stress you out even more.
