Excel: Deleted cell content but link is still there
When I delete text from a cell where the text was a hyperlink, it does go away, but when I go to type new text in the cell, the new text is hyperlinked as the former text was.

How can I stop this from happening?

    Thanks!

    Correction:

I see now that the new text is NOT hyperlinked... but it is blue and underlined like hyperlinks are.

    Is this avoidable?

    Thanks.

Right click on the cell and select Format Cells and change it to General or Text or whatever else is appropriate.

    Thanks, Scott.

I was afraid of that. Funny how we (or maybe it's just me :p ) try to reduce clicks wherever possible.

Seems like time and click-wise, your method or just clicking on the underline button and the black color button are about equal.
