    Torn ligament/tendon? Or just swollen?
I was blocking a friends spike in volleyball which slammed into my pinky finger. It hurt bad immediately and swelled up just as fast at the middle (proximal) joint. I have iced it intermittently for the past week and compressed it with fabric tape occasionally. I am able to bend it both actively and passively with mild/moderate pain. There is a protrusion on the inside (medial side) of the joint. The finger is tender to the touch, but not overly tender. Debating going to the doctor as I feel it's most likely just very swollen, but it seems pretty lumpy. Only been 8 days though so maybe some more time and RICE?
