    Should I stop taking the depo shot?
    I am currently on the depo shot and have been on it for almost a year, my next shot will be in jan of 2012, but I have been hearing all these stories from other woman about being on the depo shot. With me being on the shot, I have been very weak, and extremely sleepy all the time, I have also gained 30 lbs while being on the depo shot. Any suggestions on what I should do. Should I stop taking the depo shot? Plus me and my boyfriend have been thinking of starting a family soon?

    How soon are you thinking about trying to become pregnant? Sometimes it can take quite a long time for cycles to become regular after the last injection.

    Is there another form of birth control you feel would work well for you if you did not continue with depo provera?

    I have my own personal opinions regarding depo provera, but it is a very personal decision. If you feel it has caused you problems, consider speaking to your doctor about alternatives that might work better for you.

    I just made an appointment to talk to my doctor about getting off the depo shot and onto something else until my periods come back to normal. Um I want to try once I get my period back to normal. And thank you :)
