How to remove single valve handle
I have the same problem with the handle. The set screw has been removed,(by me), I can not pull or pry the handle from the cartridge stem.

Hi jakkkk and welcome to The Plumbing Page on AMHD.
You piggybacked on a 3 year old dead thread so I gave you one of your own. Before you post look in the upper left hand corner for the date..
For removing a stuck handle we use a handle puller (see image) Pick one up at your plumbing supply house. Good luck, Tom

    Hi Tom-
Thanks for the info about the old thread. The puller you referenced won't work on a single handle lever? The set screw was on the side.
The puller you show would pull and push at the same time on the single lever.
    Thanks again, Jack

Yep! That's how it works. You remove the snap on cap and the screw, The "arms" of the puller go underneath the handle while the center goes into the stem where the screw came out of. From there on you simply turn the puller handle clockwise. The center pin pushes against the stem while the rest of the puller pulls the handle off. Tell me again why it wouldn't work on a single handle. That's what they were made for. Good luck, Tom

    Hi Tom-
I seem to have trouble making myself clear. There is No cap and screw on the top/face of the handle. The set screw is on the side of the handle. The center pin on the puller would push against the handle itself. Not the stem, since there is no cover or cap to remove to allow access to the stem.

OK! I understand that there's a set screw. In that case I load the stem up with WD-40, loosen the set screw and proceed to wiggle the handle until it comes free. If there's any way to get two screwdrivers under the handle I can pry it up and out. Good luck. Tom
