    Admiral Washer - Spin Unbalance
I have an Admiral washer (Model AK38001) that is off balance in the spin cycle almost every wash. The drum knocks on sides of cabinet so hard, if the clothes are unbalance. You have to rebalance the clothes quite a few times to make it through the wash cycle. Any ideas?

Hi leeyh and welcome, look for a broken spring under the tub, there should be three. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Hi Parttime: Thank you for your answer.

I have removed the up-lid and could not see any broken spring around the drum. I am wondering how to remove the drum. And also, I have heard that there are some coins (maybe only one) in the drum while the machine is spinning. I want to clear them. But I don't know how to remove it. Are these coins making trouble? My washer is Admiral Model # AK38001.

    Thanks.

Whirlpool Washing Machine Repair Help - YouTube

Hi again leeyh, I'm not sure what you mean by up-lid? But to check the springs use the link above and remove the cabinet for inspection, with the lid switch bypassed you can run a cycle to see what is causing the balance issue. Good luck

    Hi Parttime:

    Thank you for your help.

"up-lid", what I want to say is that I have removed the top lid. After the top lid being removed, I can see one spring near the bottom which is fine. I but don't know how to remove the cabinet and drum. I have watched the Whirlpool Washing Machine Repair Help - YouTube. But that washer seems different from my one. The electrical panel of my washer doesn't stand on the top and the control knob of my washer is in the front.
And also, someone told me that it might be the problem of Snubber. How do you think?

    Thanks.

Hi again leeyh, here's another link that should help.

How to Fix an Admiral Washing Machine Belt | eHow.com

It could be a problem with the snubber plate, but you'll have to get the cabinet out of the way to tell.

How does the washing machine drain hose connect to the drain pipe? Does it just hang in the pipe or is it sealed to the pipe?

Hi Mr. Hkstroud: Thank you for your reply.

My washer (Admiral Model #AK38001) drain hose is sealed to the pipe.

Unseal the connection and try the washer. Just let the drain hose hang in the pipe.
