Appliances half work but not their high power draw parts like stove and clothes dryer
Everything in our house is electrical; stove, heat, hot water, dryer etc.. Yesterday we lost hot water. A check w/a voltimeter showed power to the heating element so we thought we would need to replace it. However this morning we have found several other weird things are occurring. Our electric stove "on" light comes on but there is no power to the burners or oven. Our clothes dryer will spin but there is no heat. The hot water heater still does not work eother but all our other lights and appliances seem to be functional including our 700 watt microwave

You have one leg of your service out. Call your utility company right away and report this.

I had the same problem before with a previous dryer and we eventually had to get rid of it. I found out that the no skid runners were wearing thin which was what the squeaking was from. Is it the same problem for my GE dryer model DBSR453EB3WW?

Maytag Dryer model DE806 starts only on high setting - shrinking clothes [ 5 Answers ]

Hi, We purchased a used Maytag dryer model DE 806 5 1/2 years ago and it works OK except it does not operate on any cycle except high heat. This is obviously causing some premature clothing wear, and wrinkles the clothes horribly. I've thought of replacing it, but our brand new Kenmore...

Hair dryer will not blow on high power but will when switched to low [ 1 Answers ]

Dryer appears to work but clothes don't dry [ 5 Answers ]

I have a Whirlpool model #LGB6300PW0 gas dryer that has suddenly stopped drying properly. The ignitor works and the burner lights, the drum tumbles and there appears to be plenty of air flow out of the exhaust vent. That exhaust flow doesn't feel very warm however. There just seems to be a lot...
