    After a parents death
My mother passed away and I have some of my belongings in the house. I am not the executor of her will nor am I mentioned in her will. How much time do I have to remove my belongings after her death before they become a part of the estate?

Your belongings should never become part of your mother's estate. But you should immediately tell the executor about them or else these items could accidentally be distributed to the heirs, and then you'll have a hard time getting them back. The executor may ask that you remove these items fairly quickly - he has no obligation to continue to provide free storage for your belongings.

The issue is, that you no longer have access to the house, and unless the people who are in control of the estate know it is your beongings, and unless you can prove it is yours, it may be too late.

What type of items are there
