    Civic alternator issue
Ok, my civic has been parked for a few years because of a no start situation which TXGREASEMONKEY helped me solve. It was my coil! BUT anyway, now my alternator pulley is not turning, when I start the car I hear a loud noise and the belt starts to smoke. I believe the alt. is frozen (I live in Michigan) so do I replace it or remove it and try to get things moving again?

My battery light came on (while the car was running) today for the 1st time in over 5 years with my civic. Even with a dead battery, the light never came on while running.
