How to save my relationship from falling apart?
I've been with my partner for over a year now and now we've hit rock bottom. At the beginning of our relationship I was insecure and got attention from another guy. Instead of telling my partner I hid it from him for a good few months ashamed of flirting with someone else. Now it's the root of all our arguments and just keeps getting avoided. I would never in any circumstance cheat on him but he's lost all trust in me and my love for him. Now he's not sure he's ready for this relationship anymore but I believe if we sit down and talk about everything we can mend our relationship over time. How do I get him to give me a second chance to prove that I won't stray?

    Lost In Love - 3,

Welcome to this beautiful site, first, dear!

Tell him honesty, that you had gone astray, but have found "your company and you more precious, and so I return. Please accept me. Give me any punishment, but do not leave me, in the lurch. I can not live without you. You are closer than my breaths and more vital than even my own life".

Even if this honest confession and declaration does not impress upon him, then you will have to wait and watch. See for some chance to impress upon him, so that he falls back upon you.

You both must be willing to talk and listen and work together, or its not going to work.

Sometimes you have to just stop yourself, and wait until they are willing, in there own time, or let them go until they are able, if they ever will be.

You both have personal issues to deal with on your own, your guilt, his trust, so let the emotional dust settle before you see about doing anything so calmer heads can prevail.

My point, relationships don't always work, and when they don't, you have to let go.

And that always sucks. If you cannot work together, then you will have to work apart.

Be ready & understand who you are, & what you want. Before getting into a relationship.

Keep your conversations going. Not so much about yesterday, but now & tomorrow.

Like Tal said, not everyone is meant to be.

And honestly, if he was for you & visa-versa, you wouldn't have needed to look elsewhere.

    Prove it now. To him.

    And more importantly, to yourself.
