Are there laws against opposite sex children sharing a room?
My kids are 3(son) and 6(daughter), both are scared to be in their rooms alone mostly the youngest and didn't know if there is a law in Indiana prohibiting them from sharing the room down stairs just for sleeping purposes and then making the upstairs their playroom?

It is extremely doubtful that there is such a law.

In relatively recent times, everyone shared the same bedroom, and society didn't have a problem with that.

And if the concern is that pre-pubescent children of opposite sexes might engage in sexual play if allowed to sleep in the same room, isn't equally likely that same-sex siblings might engage in the same sort of activity?

That was not a concern. The concern is that the youngest is my step son who is only here every other wknd and his father wanted to know the laws so he doesn't get into any trouble because the child's mother is a hard person to deal with.

I am aware of no law, in Indiana or elsewhere, expressly prohibiting such an arrangement.

There really is no "law" now if you are divorced , the other party can try to use it as a issue in visits or custody.

If social services is called in, while again, not breaking a law, they may look at their guidelines as to what they think is best for the kids.

AT this age is is very common to share rooms,

Now the issue is, will the mother try to stop visits because of it.
