    Who is entitled to my girlfriends belongings after she passed away?
    My girlfriend passed away a few months ago. Who is entitled to her belongings? We lived together for 16 months and were engaged to be married

    I'm sorry to hear this, curly.

    If she had a will, then it should be honored.

    If she did not, then communicate well and often with her nearest family members about the disposition of her belongings.

    I am sorry for your loss, If there was no will, normally her parents if alive, her children if she had any, and then her brothers and sisters would be next.

    As a boyfriend even one engaged, you would have no rights to her belongings that I am aware of anyway.
