    1990 Honda hatchback code 8 & 15
I recently bought a 1990 Honda Hatchback I started experiencing some problems a couple days after I bought it. It started stalling during acceleration and a poof sound came from the engine bay, also if I take it to high RPM's the check engine light came on it's throwing out a code 8 and a code 15 another thing its doing is as I'm rolling to a stop sign the car shuts off but it doesn't struggle to turn back on at all I just want to know what I need to do to fix these problems if you have any input please feel free to write back

Code 8: Top Dead Center (TDC) Sensor. The distributor's TDC Sensor has failed and they are not serviceable. You only option is to replace the distributor housing (genuine Honda only). All aftermarket distributors are suspect.

Code 15: Ignition Output Signal. The Ignition Control Module (ICM) has failed and needs replacing. Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the new ICM.

Bottom line: Buy a genuine Honda distributor housing and install a new aftermarket ICM and coil in it, in order to keep the cost down. Aftermarket ICMs and coils are fine.

OK so I installed a new cap and rotor the code 15 is cleared but I'm now getting the code 8 and 16 I can't afford the new distributor so I'm hoping I'm able to keep it running while I save the money
