Goodman GMH95 furnace preparation for shutting down in the winter?
I had a new goodman GMH95 furnace and a/c installed at my lake place in Minnesota. I will be shutting it down for the winter with an occasional weekend for ice fishing. Since it is a condensing furnace my question is what steps do I have to go through to winterize it so it will not freeze. I contacted Goodman and they told me to contact someone locally to answer the question. I sure could use some help.

Only thing I can think of is maybe take a shop wet/dry vac and make sure there is no water in the condensation lines and condensation pump if you have one,

Check to make sure that the condensate trap is clear as well. Shut all gas & electric off to the appliance as well as an added safety precaution seeing as how no one will be around. Happy fishing!

Thank you very much because I was told by the person that set it up that he thought the goodman furnace was not a bit problem in the winter just put some antifreeze in trap that goes to the drain. I would think it is a gravity feed for the water and there should not be much in the condensing part of the furnace. I will take your advice and blow out the condensing lines and put antifreeze in the trap.

    Thanks again
