Have a paper notarized to act as a Will
My husband and I are going out of town and our wills are not updated. Can we get a paper notarized to for while we are away as an update of what we would like to have in our updated will.

Of course you can, but it would help a lot if you kept a copy and sent the original to your lawyer, along with a handwritten note and even a phone call, just to add proof that you were the ones showing IDs to the notary. If no time - sure, do what you can, unless you are afraid of someone contesting the will and statements.

The requirements for a will or codicil depend on which state/country you are in. In many states a will requires that your signature, as well as two witnesses all be notarized. The witnesses have to attest that they saw you sign it.
