Dear Sir, PVC insulated cable has got more current carrying capacity. Reason: Current carrying capacity of cable mainly depends on size of conductor first. Secondly, the insulation type which causes heat to dissipate from the conductor. Natural rubber do not posses more heat dissipation characteristic but PVC (Artificial insulation)posses more heat dissipating characteristic. Hence, PVC cable carries comparatively more current. XLPE insulated cable carries more current than the PVC insulated cables. Moreover, grouping of cables, laying procedure such as in open air, under ground, in trenches also affects on current carrying capacity of the cable. Hope, you are satisfied with the answer.

    Thanks, sir
For give me a such a good knowledge. Now I want to know that I have been seen that on PVC cable it is for r70'c & on RUBBER cable it is for 90'c. I don't know why it has been written on the cable if the current carrying capacity of PVC is more... And Please tell me that What is the advantage of RUBBER insulated cable over PVC insulated cable?

Thanks sir bur I am little confuse according to me I thing rubber has higher melting point than a PVC so why the carrent carrying capacity is not higher in RUBBER insulated cable... if I am wrong please tell me which one has higher melting point. And plese give me reason if I am right... Thanks for reply..

Please provide the make and model numbers of the cables you are referring to.

Or provide links to product datasheets of these cables.
