    Home stereo system won't turn on
    Changed it from 230 to 115 while it was playing< it then made a funny noise and switched off< now it won' turn on

    I'm guessing your 230 to 115 refers to voltage. If you ran 230 (240) through a 115 (120) circuit, you probably fried the inside, that was the "funny noise" I will also assume you are not in the US. If you are very lucky, there may be a fuse that blew and hopefully protected the circuit.
