    Lien on home because of credit card debt of husband?
    Here's the situation.
    I'm the husband with the debt and I know the credit card company won the judgement against me.
    The question is "can they put a lien on home which is under wife's name?"
    I signed quit claim and she bought the house as "a single woman".
    C.C company can do it because I'm in California which is community property state?

    When did they get the judgement and when was the claim filed?

    I got the letter from county about the line couple of weeks ago and the judgement,, I think it's about 3 months ago.
    I don't have the paperwork with me right now.

    If you signed the deed "giving" her the house, after the lien, not only can they get a lien, but they may look at the transfer as an attempt to defraud them, by doing an illegal transfer merely to hide assets

    Quit claim was done almost at the same time house was purchased,, way way before this judgement and lien.
