Fiction book about a female solider set in a medieval/renaissance Italian city-state
Is trying to find a book set in the fictional medieval/renaissance Italianesque city-state like setting. The lead, a female solider, is betrayed by her lord, stab and tossed of a balcony at the start of the book. The boy has a gritty feel to it. The characters anti-hero/ex bad guys. It might fall in the genre of heroic fantasy. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
