My kenmore elite washer will not give me hot water on the hot cycle unless I turn off the cold water valve. I want hot water when I ask for hot water and not mixed with cold!

I have no solution, but know you're not alone! I am dealing with the same problem... my "hot" wash is barely lukewarm... I have only had the washer 7 months, and have done several hot washes when I first got it. Then, one day the hot washes were lukewarm. I have called the service dept 4 times on this (we bought the warranty). We've had an inlet valve replaced on one trip (still no hot water) then the "mother board" replaced, and no hot water. The tech that was here to replace the mother board did not even know my initial complaint. When I mentioned to him that I had no hot water, he ran a hot load, and a small amount of condesation was seen on my top loading glass, and he said "See , that's hot".. when we opened the lid and put my hand in it, it was just lukewarm. He said that he had another appt to go to and was no help. When I do call the service center, they do a diagnostic check via the phone and say "it should be hot water, we don't see a problem" ugh! Then I get the speech about the new energy regulations (over and over) and the water temp won't be as "hot" as my previous washer. Got this at the Great Indoors, and am ready to have them haul it away!
