My cat peed into my electrical outlet
My cat backed her butt up and I suspect she peed on the electrical outlet because there was a whitish residue left and it was wet underneath on the carpet{grrrrr}- when I flipped the breaker back on because I had no lights in the room- it sparked a little and tripped right back off- I left the breaker off and haven't tried to turn it back on-what should I do?

With the breaker off, remove the receptacle and replace it with another receptacle.

Also, clean the wires that are attached to the receptacle with alcohol and wait until everything is dry before reattaching the receptacle and then re-setting the breaker.

If you are unsure of what you are doing, please call a licensed electrician.

Depends on how much damage was done. The tripping may have caused some arcing and did some damage to the receptacle.

It may be as simple as cleaning the exposed portion and waiting for the inside to dry.

Let it sit for a while till dry and try resetting the breaker. If it trips again, then the receptlace may need to be checked out and replaced.

Cat used up one of it's nine lives.
