Hmmm. Okay, I still am not a fan of pranking them, but I can at least understand your frustration over something like that. Been there, done that, yeah? And co-workers and managers can be vicious in the restaurant world. Stiiillll... not very nice. :P
Anyway, what kind of place is this--like a little Mom & Pop diner, or a big chain? I'll cross my fingers that you worked in something seen all over the place. They would be pretty much guaranteed to have a website where you could find a number for Human Resources somewhere up the corporate chain, and complain about the management firing you. In either type of restaurant, you could probably go to your state's website (assuming this is the Chico I think it is, placing you in the US) to the Department of Labor and inquire whether you have a case of fraudulent hiring paperwork, and unjustified firing. PS - it really IS only possibly worth your time if you were unjustly fired. If their reasons were sound and nothing's wrong with their hiring methods, you really haven't gained anything.
