I have a bad odor coming from the garage through the wall into my living room.
We have lived in our house for 5 years. Last year about this same time, (when the cold sets in) we came home from Holiday with the In-laws and noticed a rotting smell in the garage. When we walked into our house and into our living room, the smell was there as well, (attached garage off livingroom). After sniffing around for a while we found it was coming from the wall between garage and living room. We opened the wall from the garage side and pulled out the insulation and found many mice nests in the insulation; so we figured we had it. Pulled out and replaced the insulation and put it back together. A week went by, smell came back. Decided to replace all the drywall and the wood, as well as buy an odor nuetralizer to spray everything. Put all back together and Presto, gone. Well, it's now the end of November and the cold is setting in and... the smell is back; and in the same place as last time. I am at a loss, I do not know what to do, who I can contact. Please Help!

Killing one batch of mice does not prevent then next batch from entering. You may have a new family living, eating, peeing and pooping in the wall. Open it again, if you find mice try to also fins their access point and seal it. Mice can pass through a hole smaller as a dime

We have the same kind of smell and it's coming from a wall outlet. Maybe sniff around the wall outlets, the smell in our home comes and goes. We are having someone look at ours. Not sure why it is smelling like this.
