    Hot water shower/faucet issue
I purchased a home at then end of May. No problems since then until now. About a week ago I suspected that the hot water pressure was dropping in the shower/faucet. Initially in the shower/faucet the hot water pressure is outstanding, but after a couple minutes (I take short showers so I couldn't drain all the hot water, 5 minute shower tops) it slows to practically a trickle. The cold water pressure still remains fine. I check the hot water pressure in the sink right next to it and it is fine.

The shower has a hot and a cold knob, and there is a hose from the faucet to a hand held shower head.

The water heater is about 5-10 ft away from the shower on the same floor level, and was replaced I think in '05 if memory serves me correctly.

I don't have brand names of the shower/faucet right now, but I could provide if need be.

I appreciate any help on the subject.

Two knob shower faucets are all pretty much the same. Sounds like you have trash blocking the seat in the valve body or hot water supply. This can happen if you fail to flush your water heater on a regular basis. (Would you like me to show you how?)
Turn the hot water off at the shower or hot water heater and remove the knob and remove the stem and washer assembly, ( if a cartridge then remove and check the ports for blockage. Now turn on the hot water on for a moment to flush out the supply and open valve body. Reassemble and test. Pressure better now? Good luck, Tom

Do what Tom says and then power flush your water heater at least twice per year to prevent this from happening again.
