    Weening off 150mcg every 48 hours?
    Is it safe for me to quit my fentanyl prescription of 150 micrograms per hour cold turkey? I have had the same prescription for two and a half years. I have suffered a massive stroke as well as two small strokes, a mild heart attack and .

    I strongly recommend against stopping or altering your prescribed dosage of this drug without medical supervision.

    Fentanyl is a particularly powerful narcotic and withdrawal should be monitored by the physician familiar with your medical history.

    I have to totally agree with the previous post.Any stopping or altering of medication should be authorized by your Doctor only,I am sure if he/she did not want you to be taking this medication, then it would not be perscribed for you.

    I would suggest that you visit your Doctor to review your medication,he will tell you whether or not the meds you are on, are still relevant to your condition.

    If the reasons for coming off your meds are because of continuing side effects,then talk to your Doctor about them,who I'm sure will help if there is another medication that will do a similar job with less side effects.
