I broke up with someone a while ago, at least eight months. I was the first one to move on and date, and we've remained really really good friends. Since then I've entered a period of my life where I just don't think dating anyone is the best move, and won't be for a while. But now, I see him with his new girlfriend and I'm really really jealous. I don't know what to do. I do not want to be with him, and really understand why things didn't work. But I'm still jealous. Is it just because I find myself watching a new couple and wishing I could date too? How do I make myself feel better about my situation and stop thinking about theirs?

We don't know why you are jealous but you do! YOU tell US. Often the questions people ask are their own answers, so yes, probably you do want to date. You seem to recognize how totally selfish and unreasonable it is to break up with someone and then resent their happiness. So... go out on a mini date, coffee and a walk around town, half hour tops, just to see how you feel. Or if you know some poor guy on the rebound tell him what you are going through and see if he wants a 'misery loves company' date. Or even go out on a real date.
