Help, My husband order a new capacitor to replace the old one. He is now sick and in the hospital. So... I am stuck with trying to replace the new one and want to do it right. Any words of instructions I need to hear? Thanks for your help.

Yes, hire a licensed repairman to change this out for you. There is no way for you to safely do this yourself if you know virtually nothing about a/c or heating. Would not recommend you try this. Just call somebody out or you could end up hooking it up wrong and doing further damage to the unit.

TURN POWER OF TO UNIT FROM the fuse box in house and then go to your unit, look on the wall behind your unit or in that area and you will see a box. Open the box and remove the plug. Now take cover off your unit and find the oval or round canistor that looks like the one your husband ordered. Pay attention to the wires as you pull one wire from the old capicator, you should hook it to the new one in the same relative location. Before you disconnect wiring. Use your phone, if you have a smart phone and take a picture or video of the way the old capacitor is connected. OK back to the project. Connect the new capacitor. Plug quick disconnect back up into the wall by your unit outside and then go back to your fuse box in house and turn the switch back on. Go to your thermostat and set it to cool and lower temp and then go back outside to see if the fan and unit is running. Hopefully that fixes it.

Turn the breaker going to the A/C off first!! If you don't do this or are not sure the power is off some one can get hurt. If it's a dual capacitor it will have wires going to--(H)--(F)--(C). Mark the color of wires that go with the letters on some paper. Replace the way you found it. Rock and roll you got A/C.
