An article about sex on your period
Posted here because its about sex, and its very adult.
There is this article that I THINK is trying to say you can't get pregnant on your period. I have always been old that is a myth. Can anyone elaborate on this?

    Here is the article.

Period Sex Is Actually a Really Great Idea

    Post from the stir:

    http://thestir.cafemom.com/love_sex/124584/period_sex_is_actually_a

Biology says the best time to have sex is 7 a.m. since that's when he's loaded with testosterone and even if his body is tired, he is raging to go. While I'm scared of having Godzilla breath and being groggy first thing in the morning, I find that I'm definitely more in the mood around 8:30 a.m. Than I am at 10 p.m. But that's not what I really wanted to talk about. What I'm talking about is the other best time to have sex, the one that happens once a month, when "Harry with the red hair" pays his monthly visit.

That would be period sex. Sex at the time when you're least likely to get pregnant, when you don't require extra lube and when it's okay to get messy. Not only can period sex be hot, literally, but orgasms are also a great way to relieve cramps.

This all came up for me after a wonderful conversation with Madeleine Shaw, the co-creator of lunapads (full disclosure: I love lunapads and have been using them for years in lieu of throwaway disposable maxi pads). I realize that period sex isn't something we talk about often, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do it every month.

I get that period sex isn't for everyone. But it's also something that lots of people do enjoy. And I've had more than one boyfriend that I turned on to period sex, because it didn't gross me out. If you try it first on a lighter day, it will gross you out less too. And if you do do it on heavy days, a towel under the booty is an easy way to clean up more of the mess. Sure, it takes some getting used to, that first time you look down and see blood, but there's a whole host of fantasies and fetishes that can go along with that. And of course you can do it in the shower, or after can be fun too. Or it can be a time when you reenact that scene from Carrie.

Periods are natural, and sex on your period can feel natural, too. Our bodies align with the moon, and, if we have roommates, the other women in our lives too. What if we all decided to celebrate our personal lunar calendar by painting the town, or at least our bedroom, red?

According to everything I've ever read or been taught, that article is incorrect. It's less likely for a woman to get pregnant then, but not impossible.

This article is humorous at best. It certainly isn't a scholarly article. I'd take it at face value. Seems like some 20 year old wrote it.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks ladies. I just wanted to make sure that I had my own facts right on it :P
