My period was due on aug 23, I took 2 pregnancy test they were negative. I went to the hospital and they did a pregnancy test by blood and that was negative as well but the ultrasound showed my lining was 2.5 cm. What do all this mean? Could I be pregnant?

Chances are you are either not pregnant, or it's too early to tell.

Every once in a while, for some unknown reason, Mother Nature throws us women a curve ball and we miss a period, or have it later than usual.

If you don't have another period next month, test again. Be sure to use first morning urine when you do test as it is more accurate.

So the thicken lining would mean? Because the ultrasound did not show any shedding so the doctor said to come back at the end of the week to do another test if I do not have a period by then. I'm just scared becaused I have never missed a period! Other than when I was pregnant!

The thickening of the lining could happen right before your period starts or due to pregnancy. Unfortunately, you are playing the waiting game and have to wait to see what happens during this next week.
