    My girlfriend wants to be single?
    My girlfriend of a over a year told me recently she wants to be single but doesn't want to lose me what should I do?

    That means she wants to see what's out there but wants to keep you as a safety net if it doesn't workout being single. Your not a safety net are you?

    If she wants to be single there isn't much you can do except accept her decision and let go. However, you do not have to try to be friends with her if you don't want to be or think it will be too difficult.

    I was going to ask how old you are, but it really doesn't matter because my advice is going to end up being the same. I highly recommend you each go your own ways to allow yourselves time and space to heal. Someday in the future you may be able to be friends without the false hope, confusion and baggage that would be present today.

    Take care of yourself and give yourself ways to stay busy while you heal. Do not get back together with her (if that becomes an option) until after whatever issues that caused the break up have been or are being fixed. Revolving door relationships happen because people act rashly both in breaking up and making up.

    She made a choice of what was best for her. Your turn to make the best decision for yourself.

    Tell her that the relationship does not exist anymore, let her face the decision you have been pushed to make, and move on with your life. Give her time until she decides what she really wants, she might like (love) you, but does not want to be committed, surely you would not take an open relationship right?

    Tell her it's a great idea to be single, then disappear from her life, and have a happy single life yourself. Easier said than done, but she has probably had a great time with you and wants you in the friend zone while she explores other options, and opportunities with others. More than likely she has been thinking this way for a while, and for whatever reasons, has finally gotten the courage to tell you. So let her go, no crying and begging, just a lot of rebuilding without her.

    The last think you do is cry like a baby, and act like a punk.
