    Not "into" the opposite sex.
    Hello,

I am a 40 year-old female, and I am happy with my life. However, I am just not interested in having a friendship/intimate relationship with a male(as I have grown and matured), I have wondered why this is?

In my life so far I have been approached by 1 or 2 males, who have been interested in me, but, their behavior toward me, and while "getting to know them/each other over time(ie; several years) has not been respectful at all.

I respect myself and others, and I have strong morals and values (which I strongly hold to). Since I was not shown/treated with respect by the two males who approached me/were interested in me earlier in my life, I told them both that I would no longer date them, and to please leave my life, they did.

However, because of my experience with these two males, now, I am completely "turned off" to having a friendship/intimate relationship with a man/male. I am almost 100% sure that "lack of respect" is why I am not interested in sharing my life with a male.

My question is: Can "lack of respect" by a man/men toward a woman/women be a "turn-off" to some women (like myself) to sharing their life/lives with a man/male?

    Thanks.

Of course it can be a turn off. But after a while you also realize that all males are not the same, and you CAN make better choices. Don't let two close your mind to others. You just haven't met those good ones yet.
