    What to do to have total custody of my daugther, My 3 year old boyfriend, left us.
    Live with boyfriend for 3 year. Now after we have a daughter he left us because he need it space. And he was not happy. I live in Florida. I need my mam help with my baby, but she lives in Puerto Rico. Can he stop me, if I decide to move near my mom?

    Not unless he files in court for child custody or visitation.

    But be aware, that if you do move to PR, he can file for custody or visitation in Florida for as long as six months. How old is your daughter?

    And if he does file, you might be required to return the child to Florida.

    Can he stop you ? Yes

    But he will have to take you to court to do so.
