State Select Electric Water Heater Resetting Problem
My state select 40 gln water heater is not running hot water and not able to locate where the reset button is. I checked the manual and it is older then my unit. But it did say to remove the retangle side piece, shutting power off first.. then pull the insulation out and press the reset button. There is no reset button. There is another retangle cover at the top of the water heater, but water comes out of it when start unscrewing the side. I turned the water off to the water heater, but do not know if the reset button is in the top or bottom area for this State Select 40 Gln P64020RT electric water heater.

I was able to fix the problem myself after researching other water heater issues on web site. First turned water off at shut off valve to hot water tank, then turned the break off for power to water heater. After doing that was able to access top retangle opening on heater unit and after removing the insulation there was the red reset button. Pressed it, then put the insulation back and cover back on water heater. Turned breaker on and heard power to the unit, where the water heater was back on. Turned the water back on to the water heater and waited about 15 minutes. Tried turning on water at the kitchen sink, hot water side and after a minute, maybe less started feeling the water was getting warmer almost hot. Problem resolved...

Go to the breaker box and turn the power off at once!! You are leaking water into a thermostat that's wired into 220 Volts AC. The reset button's located on the thermostat behind the top inspection plate. But first get some in to repair the leak and dry out the insulation. Good luck, Tom
