    Squatter rights in Florida?
I have been a tenant going on 5 yrs and now I received a hand delivered letter from a PA that from now on I should pay the firm rent being that the landlord forfieted on a lender/ owner agreement , my apartment needs repair and renovations and the yard at this duplex needs to be mowed and kept up , I at one time did these services for the landlord. It is cheaper for me to make these repairs and renovations than moving , the schools are A schools and my son is happy at the school and doing very well, can I file an adverse possession or should I ? To abtain the land and duplex so I can keep living and making necessary repairs and renovations.

Obtaining ownership by adverse possession requires that you are using the property without the owners' consent. Since you are a tenant you have the owners' consent to be there and you would not qualify.

If you want to continue living there, try contacting the lender's representative and see if you can work out some kind of agreement where you perform the maintenance in return for a significantly reduced rent.

Define "PA"? But Lisa is right, there is no adverse possession issue here. You do need to confirm that the owner in fact forfeited on something and that this fiorm is entitled to collect rent. So you need proof that the property has changed hands or there is a court order that they are entitled to collect rent.

Once they prove that they are entitled to collect you then ask them about the repairs.

I'd put my money on "Professional Association".
