    I would like to refurbish my fireplace surround with tiles.
    I want to redo my wood fireplace surround which is white painted brick. YUK. I want to tile around it but, not sure what kind of tile will withstand the heat. WHAT KIND OF TILES can I put around my fireplace surround

    I have found the following resources regarding the refurbishing of a fireplace surround with tiles. The first resource I found is from the DIY Network, here they show how the ceramic tiles are laid out, adhesive and grout troweled over the fireplace, etc.

    Here is a great YouTube video that shows how to install marble tile around a fireplace. And, this is a fantastic video overview of someone tiling a fireplace.

    Is this current surround a faux brick on framing or is it structural brick making up the actual fireplace? Countless faux materials are available including but not limited to tile. I have used Corning faux stone and Eldorado stome many times and the finished llok is great. Eldorado Stone
