    Evicted by my local council
I'm being evicted by my local council for rent arrears etc -it was taken to court, where possession was granted back to the council-was given 28days which ended on 8th august-but the name on the summons was different to that which is on my tenancy is there anything that can be done to stop this going ahead

I'm sorry to say but it's too late to bring this up now.

This should have been part of your defence when the council took this to court, and to be perfectly honest I doubt it would have made any difference.

The Judge may have put it down to an admin error and continued anyway, or simply issued a stay for it to be rectified.

If the arrears have got to the state where the council is seeking a possession order then the ONLY thing that would stop this would be serious repayment.

Now you need to get yourself sorted out and, I hope, you have vacated the property already, otherwise things may go badly for you.
