    Deposit Mistake
About a year ago I deposited $3000.00 in a customers checking account by mistake. I didn't notice it until recently. My bank said too much time has past and there is nothing that they can do for me. Is there legal action I can take? I understand that it is fraud on the part of the person that received the money. HELP!!

Actually no it is not fraud, not by criminal standards, since they did nothing wrong, they did not move the money and put it anywhere,

And just as "you did not notice" you can't prove they noticed and could have well just thought it was their money.

You can sue the people in civil court for the money back, that is about all your options.
